  5. Click on Servers tab. Follow the text below for the appropriate settings for your account entered in the fields marked by red rectangles in the screenshot below.
    a. For olympus.net email (janedoe@olympus.net):
    • Enter mail.userservices.net in both the Incoming Mail (POP3) and in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) fields
    • Under Incoming Mail Server, enter your full email address (janedoe@olympus.net) in the field for Account Name
    • Be sure the check box My server requires authentication is checked under Outgoing Mail Server at the bottom of the dialog box
    • Click Apply
    b. For email in your own domain (sally@example.com):
    • Enter mailc11.megamailservers.com in both the Incoming Mail (POP3) and in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) fields
    • Under Incoming Mail Server, enter your full email address (sally@example.com) in the field for Account Name

  6. If you are receiving email but cannot send email, follow steps 1-4 to access the settings, and then click the Settings button (screenshot immediately above shows the button) to the right of the Outgoing Mail Server at the bottom area of the dialog box. Use same settings as my incoming mail server should have a dot in the radio button. Click OK.

  7. Click the Advanced tab shown in the screenshot for Step 4, and change the Outgoing mail (SMTP) from port number 25 to 587.
  8. Check the check box This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL). Check the same check box under Incoming mail (POP3), but do not change the number that is entered by default.
  9. Under the Delivery section, set the number of days to remove email from the server so copies are not retained; 14-30 days before they are removed from the server works for most people. Click OK to close the small dialog box, and then click Apply if it is not grayed out, or OK to close.
