Modify Settings In Existing Account - OS X Outlook

  1. The purpose of this page is to describe how an already existing email account may be modified to work with OlympusNet email servers.
  2. While updating email settings, Outlook may pop up a window about an Identity or Security error. You'll need to accept the Identity certificate, clicking always trust and entering the operating system password to finalize the certficate trust. If the certificate trust processes successfully, you need not change the mail server names as described in step 4.
  3. With Outlook for Mac open, click on the Tools menu at the top of the screen and select Accounts.

  4. Click on your OlympusNet account in the left margin to highlight it. Follow the text below for the appropriate settings for your account entered in the fields marked by red rectangles in the screenshot below.
    a. For olympus.net email (janedoe@olympus.net):
    • In both the E-mail Address field and the User Name field, enter the full email address (janedoe@olympus.net)
    • For both Incoming Server and Outgoing Server enter mail.userservices.net only if certificate trust fails
    • Check the check box Use SSL to Connect
    • Port 587 is best for Outgoing. 
    • Click the More Options button under Outgoing Server settings when done.
    b. For email in your own domain (sally@example.com):
    • In both the E-mail Address field and the User Name field, enter the full email address (sally@example.com)
    • For both Incoming Server and Outgoing Server enter mailc11.megamailservers.com only if certificate trust fails
    • Check the check box Use SSL to Connect
    • Port 587 is best for Outgoing.
    • Click the More Options button under Outgoing Server settings when done.
  5. Under Authentication select Use Incoming Server Info. Do not change or enter anything into any of the other fields. User name and Password may be blank or grayed out.  Click OK.

  • Click on the word Outlook next to the apple icon.
  • Select Preferences
  • General tab
