Modify Email Settings in Existing Account - OS X Entourage

  1. The purpose of this page is to describe how an already existing email account may be modified to work with OlympusNet email servers.
  2. While updating email settings, Entourage may pop up a window about an Identity error. You'll need to accept the Identity certificate which is described in OS X - Trust Certificate  entering the operating system password to finalize the certificate trust. If you do not have the password or if the certificate trust fails, step 5 describes how to change the server names.
  3. With Entourage open, click on the Tools menu at the top of the screen and select Accounts.
  4. When the Accounts window opens, click once on the account you want to edit to highlight it, then click the Edit button at the top of Accounts pane. Do NOT click Edit at the very top of the screen.

  5. Change the server name as shown in this step only if you the certificate trust fails, as described in step 2. Under the Account Settings tab, in the Edit Account dialog box, follow the text below for entries into the fields marked by the red rectangles in the screenshot below.
    a. For olympus.net email (janedoe@olympus.net):
    • For Account Name and for the E-mail Address enter the full email address (janedoe@olympus.net)
    • Under Receiving Mail, enter the full email address (janedoe@olympus.net) in the Account ID field
    • In the POP Server field enter mail.userservices.net if certificate trust fails
    • Under Sending Mail enter mail.userservices.net for SMTP Server if certificate trust fails
    • Click the button beneath, click here for advanced sending options, and see step 4.
    b. For email in your own domain (sally@example.com):
    • For Account Name and for the E-mail Address enter the full email address (sally@example.com)
    • Under Receiving Mail, enter the full email address (sally@example.com) in the Account ID field
    • In the POP Server field enter mailc11.megamailservers.com only if certificate trust fails
      Enter the same server under Sending Mail, for SMTP Server
    • Click the button beneath, click here for advanced sending options, and see step 4.

  6. Select authentication using Same as incoming information if it is an option.  Change the outgoing Port to 587. Click OK and Save Changes when prompted after clicking to close the dialog box.
