For problems with Thunderbird, it is always a good idea to try reinstalling the latest version of Thunderbird from mozilla.org. In this document the screenshots show the fictitious account, janedoe@olympus.net.

  1. The purpose of this page is to describe how an already existing email account may be modified to work with OlympusNet email servers.
  2. While updating email settings, a popup about security or identity may arise. Click to check the check box at the bottom of the popup Permanently store this exception, and then click the button Confirm Security Exception. If the certificate trust processes successfully, do not change the mail server names as described in step 6.
  3. The screenshots in this document show the fictitious account janedoe@olympus.net. Follow the text in step 4, and do not use the settings from the example account.
  4. Click on the Tools menu and select Account Settings.

  5. Click your account name to highlight it, then click Server Settings below the account name. Other versions of Thunderbird instead show View settings for this account to be clicked on the right side of the dialog box.
