Modify Email Settings in Existing Account - OS X 10.12

The purpose of this page is to describe how an already existing email account may be modified to work with OlympusNet email servers.

  1. Open the the Mail application and click on the word Mail to the right of the Apple in the upper left corner of the screen. Then select Preferences.
  2. Click on the Accounts Tab. To modify/edit an existing account, click the account in the Accounts list to highlight it. ["Olympus in" in the screenshot below. 
    A. The Account Information button:  Account is enabled. How long to store email on the server. If a new account is to be added, click the plus in the margin where the accounts show.
    B. The Mailbox Behaviors button: The options here regard handling Junk and Deleted email.
    C. The Server Settings button: On the Accounts tab, click to highlight the account in the margin (shows as Olympus in by screenshot), then click on Server Settings. Here is where you update the password for both Incoming and Outgoing Servers if your email account password has changed. Note if you have multiple accounts, immediately under Outgoing Mail Server, Account, there is a drop down menu from which you may select a view that shows the outgoing server settings for all of your accounts.
  3. In the screenshot above, note the +- buttons at the bottom of the Accounts margin: to add another email account, click the +. Then follow the document Setup New Email Account - OS X 10.12
