Home Directory

  1. When you log in to the server with your FTP program, you will log in to your Home directory.  The Home directory is expressed with a forward slash (/). See also Domain Website FTP Settings.
  2. After you log in to your Home directory, you will see these folders:
    1. cgi-bin: This is the place for your CGI scripts.
    2. databases: This is where your databases are stored.
    3. logs: This is the place where log files are stored. These files are automatically generated by the server.
    4. private: This is a directory used to store files and folders that cannot be viewed by a Web browser. For example, a password file could be stored in the private directory.
    5. public: This is the directory where your HTML files are stored and can be viewed by a Web browser.
