A new generation of viruses has been released that eludes virus detection because the virus
attachment is encrypted and must be decrypted on the desktop using a password.
- OlympusNet will never send you encrypted attachments
- OlympusNet will only send you mail using a format with a dot(.)
in the sender name such as customer.
support@olympus.net
or a support person's name such as dorothy.
support@olympus.net
- OlympusNet will not send mail to you from addresses such as
support@olympus.net,

- OlympusNet's virus filters are automatically updated the moment that Sophos, our virus protection supplier, sends an update
- We are currently blocking the W32/Bagle-K and J virus as defined by Sophos starting late in the morning of March 3rd by
recognizing the From: sender and the Subject: lines
- Virus writers produce mutants quickly and it takes time for the anti-virus companies to distribute antidotes
- Your desktop virus software might protect you if you accidentally decrypt a virus email.
