This document specifically addresses the installation of Eudora 6.x for Mac, and
setting up LoricaMail using Eudora 6.x to check either POP or IMAP mailboxes. Handling
multiple mail accounts and making corrections to existing settings
are also discussed. The procedures outlined may be used for earlier versions
of Eudora with minor changes.

Eudora 6.x is available for download from http://www.eudora.com/.

Close any open programs before beginning. Then double-click
on the icon for the Eudora installer. A Eudora graphic will be displayed.
Click
Continue. Click Continue on the next screen as well.
Read the license agreement that follows and click Agree.

By default the "easy install" option should already be selected, so click
Install. If you have an existing Eudora installation that you
want to upgrade, you may want to deviate from these instructions and choose
Custom Installation.

You will now be asked in which folder you would like to have Eudora installed.
Select the Applications folder and click
Install. You may be told that you will need to restart your Mac after
the installation. If so, click Yes.

The installation will now begin. When complete, you will be asked whether
you want Eudora to be your default email application. If you intend to
use Eudora regularly, click Yes.

Next, you will be informed that the installation was successful. Click
Quit to exit the installer. The Eudora folder will still be open. You
may want to take this opportunity to create an alias in Eudora, using this method: highlight
the Eudora program icon, then click the file menu and select Make Alias.
You can drag the new alias to your desktop.
Configuring Eudora

Start Eudora by double-clicking its desktop icon.

An introduction will be displayed discussing the Light, Sponsored, and
Paid modes. Click OK. The next screen is informational. Click
Next and enter the requested information.

The Settings window will now open with the Getting
Started icon highlighted. If it does not open, click the Special menu
and then click Settings. Select the icon Getting Started.
Fill in the following:

For Username enter your LoricaMail email address
(e.g., janedoe@loricamail.com)

For Mail Host enter mail.loricamail.com

For Real Name enter your name as you would
like it to be displayed on your email (e.g., Jane Doe)

For SMTP Server enter smtp.loricamail.com

For Return Address enter your email address
(e.g., janedoe@loricamail.com)

Click the Checking Mail icon in the left-hand column. For the
mail protocol choose either POP or IMAP, depending on which
type of mailbox you have. If you are not sure, then select POP.

For POP mailboxes, the Authentication should be set to Password. Verify that
the save password option is checked. Ignore the rest of the settings.

For IMAP mailboxes, the Location Prefix should be left blank. Verify that the
save password option is checked. Ignore the rest of the settings.

Click OK at the bottom of the window to save and close the
setup.
Check mail by clicking on the checking mail icon: .
The first time you check mail, you will be prompted to enter your password. Enter
your LoricaMail password. If you have entered
your password correctly, Eudora should save it.
Configuring Eudora to access multiple mail accounts
Eudora has the ability to handle multiple mail accounts and can check
mail for each box simultaneously (except in Light mode).
| 1) Click the Special menu, then
click Settings. Scroll down the list of icons on the left side of
the window, then click Personalities.
2) Click the New button in upper-right corner of the window,
then type in a name for the new personality in the Personality
Name line. Note: The drop-down menu next to Personality will continue
to read Untitled followed by a number. |

| This will change when the settings are
saved.
3) Fill in the various fields as outlined in step
#3 of the configuration section, above.
4) Click the Personality Extras icon in the left column. For
the mail protocol choose either POP or IMAP depending
on which type of mailbox you have.

| POP mailboxes: (middle image) the Authentication should be set to

be left blank and the save password option should be checked. Ignore
the rest of the settings.
5) Click OK. |

Changing settings in an existing personality
If you discover you need to correct a setting in an existing personality, click
the
Special menu, then click Settings. Scroll down the
list of icons on the left side of the window, then click Personalities.
From the pull-down at the top next to Personality, choose the personality
you want to edit and make the necessary changes. Refer to the instructions
and images in the Configuring Eudora to access
