I'm a native of Illinois who relocated to the Olympic Peninsula 14 years ago. My first exposure to this area was a Chicago newspaper article detailing a colony of life's dropouts living on a remote ocean beach named Shi-Shi. Those people are long gone, but the fabulous wilderness coastline, rain forests and glacier-sculpted mountains remain. More beautiful still is that we all own a piece of them. The following images were taken along the High Divide and the notorious Bailey Range.
