• October 17 -- 8:00 pm to 12:00 midnight -- The Greg Vinson Dance Band for the Palindrome Dance Club at the Palindrome in Port Townsend.

  The Palindrome Dance Club has been around for a while. They sponosor dances at the Palindrome the third Saturday of each month. These folks go for swing dancing but everyone who loves to dance is always welcome. There is a free dance workshop before the show for anyone interested starting at 7:00.

  I always try to hire a few horn players from the Jazz Crossing Jam Sessions for a few sets of hard-hitting R and B as well as a few singers from the Wild Rose Chorale.

  All ages welcome. No tobacco, drugs or alcohol.

  I gave a gospel choir workshop to about 15 high school and middle school students last Friday (1/16) in connection with a youth enrichment program sponsored by the community to raise awareness of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his life and work. It was an all-volunteer effort and I was very honored to be asked to contribute in this way.

  The students in my workshop were so enthusiastic and sounded so good, that the coordinators asked our group to perform for the "Let Freedom Fly!" program being held to celebrate Dr. King's Day at the Rose Theatre. The students unanimously agreed to participate. It was a wonderful program.
