Far
beyond our highest hopes, we entered a stretch of glass smooth open water, with virtually no swell at all. Since the weather service had been
warning of gale force winds two days prior to this, we were extremely
pleased with what we were experiencing.
Still fresh, no wind, and a perfect sunrise.... What a great way to start
the day! |

At this point we
were on a heading about 10 degrees west of our final destination and approaching
slack tide. We knew that with the change of the tide we would have a
growing Eastward current that would push us toward the Victoria Harbor. As
it turned out, we ended up with a light breeze out of the East that
negated any positive tidal flow. |

We are about 6
miles into our voyage and still enjoying flat calm seas. Our support crew
was doing a great job, running ahead, then waiting for us to catch up,
where we would receive encouraging words from Sheryl and Gene, and comic
relief from Paul... when he was not too busy "just looking great on
the boat". |
