If This Image Isn't Moving, Your Browser Doesn't Support Animated Gifs!
I have wanted to use animation for a long time. I finally found the time to do some. One thing I think animation will highlight is the stretching or tearing that happens to the laminae during acute laminitis.
One aspect of laminitis that I think should get more attention has to do with the transitional phase between developmental(my usage) and acute laminitis.
While the original cause of developmental laminitis may have been systemic, once the laminae become subjected to stretching forces a major contributor to the acute phase is now local.
One concern I have with the trend toward chemical therapies is that as effective as they may be, they would have less to reckon with if the stretching forces where not present within the hoof capsule.
Try suspending yourself from the ceiling by vice grip pliers attached to your fingernails!
Sole support therapies are indeed effective, to a point, but they do not provide a means for P3 to be "re attached" to the hoof wall the way the Heart Bar Shoe does.
I will be working on other animations, one will show the build up of fluids in the lamellar space with the Heart Bar Shoe in place. I hope this will demonstrate the need for resection, and the difference between HBS use and sole support use.
