about the work

The medium is comprised of tree resin,
beeswax and natural pigments, which is
fused by heat onto hand finished aluminum
panels. With most pieces including pods,
seeds and other unique elements of nature
from around the world which are embedded
into this resin.

The work is completely archival with examples
from the middle ages still very much in
existence. The colors do not fade nor do the elements degrade in any way. They are sealed
in the resin as well. However like a fine painting
they do have a fragility. Because the resin
compound is predominantly a beeswax base -
any heat over 100 degrees as well as exposure
to the solar heat of the direct sun must be
avoided.
