"Kitty Litter" Cake

For humans only!! Never give chocolate to your kitty!
Recipe from Alyssa
Materials
As many medium sized Tootsie Rolls as seems sufficient for "turds"
Two boxes of light-colored cake mix
"Fecal" add-ons (be creative!)
NEW (and CLEAN!) kitty litter box & scooper
A few graham crackers (optional)
Follow the directions on the back of the cake mix boxes so you end up with two cakes. Have the litterbox ready, then crumble the cakes into it. Microwave the Tootsie Rolls a few at a time until plyable. Press in your creative fecal add-ons, then arrange your Tootsie Rolls the way your cat would (even leaving one hanging over the edge!) Crumble your optional graham crackers over the top, then insert the kitty litter scooper. Finally, present your masterpiece to your guests in a creative way!

Catnip Tea

Materials
One teabag
Three teaspoons of dried catnip
Water
Stapler
Use the teabag for whatever you want, so you don't waste the tea leaves. Once you have done what you were intending, remove the staple that holds the bag together. Empty the contents, then rinse the bag and fill it with catnip. Staple it shut, then soak it in boiled water to make tea. Make sure to cool the tea to room temperature before serving it to your cat!

Dexter's All-Time Favorite Cat Toy

This toy is easy to make, and when Dexter sees me with one, he turns into a complete catnip addict!
Materials
4"x4" piece of Feline-durable fabric (more durable than you would think!)
Three teaspoons of dried catnip
Scissors
One yard of string
Cut a circle out of the whole piece of fabric (which should be 4"x4"). Put the catnip in a neat pile in the center of the circle. Bring the edges of the circle together to form sort of a sack, then tie the string VERY tightly around the excess cloth (wrapping it around the pinched area many times to insure durability). Leave the extra string there to drag the toy around. Once you have done this, the toy should look like a fish with a ruffly tail and a string tied around its "waist." That's it (simple, huh?)! For some reason, though, Dexter REALLY gets crazy when he plays with these. He hardly enjoys catnip just plain (?).
