Our house, looking north. The smaller building, attached by a covered walkway, is a woodworking shop. About a thousand feet behind the point of view, to the south, lies the largest contiguous wilderness in the continental US, Olympic National Park. About six miles north from the point of view lies the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Either goal can be reached on foot. Our house lies a little less than 2,000 feet above sea level on a gentle ridge.
