Max Grover

Max Grover is an artist and illustrator living in Port Townsend, Washington. His paintings are shown by the Fountainhead Gallery in Seattle, WA, the Pullium Deffenbaugh Gallery of Portland, OR, and the Freehand Gallery in Los Angeles, CA.

Max's first children's book, The Accidental Zucchini, won the Parents' Choice Magazine Gold Award. His illustrations also appear in Miss Mabel's Table, Amazing & Incredible Counting Stories, Circles and Squares Everywhere, Max's Wacky Taxi Day, Where Go the Boats, So Many Kinds of Shoes, See Them Go, and The Night Before Christmas, all published by Harcourt Brace & Co.

One of Max's illustrations was chosen for the Original Art '93, Society of Illustrators' show in New York. Max's Wacky Taxi Day was selected as a Children's Choices title for 1998. His work has been published as greeting cards by Peaceable Kingdom Press and Graphique de France. Max's images have appeared as posters for such organizations as the Seattle Men's Chorus, Friends of Trees, and the Port Townsend Film Festival. His paintings are in many public and private collections throughout the Northwest.
