REGULAR PROPERTY TAXES FROM 1991 to 2001
- In ten years Grant County Local Regular Property
Taxes (home taxes) went up 126.6%! An annual growth rate of 8.5%,
(blue line).
- Grant County is one of 39
counties in Washington State. It is not part of a Metropolitan Area. Its 2000
population of 74,960 ranked 13th in the State.
Per Capita Personal
Income (PCPI) Over the past 10 years county PCPI went up
an average of 3.5% each year. State wide PCPI rose 4.5%, 4.2% nation
wide. The PCPI was $14,202 in 1990 ranking 35th in the State. By 2000,
the PCPI was $20,111 ranking 35th in the State, 64% of the State average of
$31,230, 68% of the national average of $29,469.

(TPI)
Over the past 10 years the average annual growth
rate of TPI was 6.8%. The average annual growth rate for the State was 6.5%,
5.5% nation wide. In 1990, the TPI was $782,320* ranking 18th in the
State. By 2000, TPI was $1,507,484* ranking 16th in the State, 0.8% of the
State total.
- COMPONENTS OF TOTAL PERSONAL INCOME
(TPI)
TPI includes the earnings (wages and salaries,
other labor income, and proprietors's income); dividends, interest, and rent;
and transfer payments received by county residents. Earnings were 62.2% of
TPI in 1990. By 2000, earnings were 62.2% of TPI. Dividends, interest, and rent
were 17.4% (compared with 20.1% in 1990); and transfer payments were 20.5%
(compared with 17.7% in 1990). From 1990 to 2000, earnings increased on
average 6.8% each year; dividends, interest, and rent increased on average
5.2%; and transfer payments increased on average 8.4%.
- EARNINGS BY INDUSTRY
Earnings of persons employed in Grant County increased from $520,056*
in 1990 to $1,002,935* in 2000, an average annual growth rate of 6.8%. The
largest industries in 2000 were state and local government, 21.4% of earnings;
farm, 19.7%; and services, 13.3%. In 1990, the largest industries were state
and local government, 22.3%; farm, 17.5% of earnings; and services,
10.9%. Of the industries that accounted for at least 5% of earnings in 2000,
the slowest growing from 1990 to 2000 was state and local government, 6.3%; the
fastest was services, 8.9%.
