Welcome to My Loom Page

Carol has been wanting to learn how to weave for years. While caring for her father in Oregon, we picked up a set of plans for a loom. The plans were for a loom twice the size of this one. On our trips home I would work on the computer scaling down the design. When we were back in Oregon I would try and verify my design by visiting the local Weaving Shop and purchasing the parts I needed. I then started making chips when I could. All in all this task took the better part of a year.

This is the back of the loom and shows my first warp. The loom is made of solid Oak except for the harness which contain the heddles and they are Hemlock. The purchased parts on this side are the heddles and gears. From the picture you can see that her sewing room is getting very crowded.

This is the front side, or working end, of the loom. This is my trial warp and it really worked the first time! I had to buy the reed, gears and hardware for this side. Carol has warped it several times now and is having a ball with it.
