USING THE SECURE SERVER

The OlympusNet secure server is available to all OlympusNet Web Business customers. The secure server ensures that information submitted by the person filling out a form is encrypted. It is decrypted when it reaches our server. Its primary use is for financial transactions.

To invoke the secure server on your site, replace any current links to forms with a new link, like this:

  • Current link:
    http://www.yourDomainName.com/yourFormName.html
  • Becomes:
    https://satsop.olympus.net/biz/yourDirectoryName/yourFormName.html

Notice that in addition to the extra "s" in the URL, you must also give the full directory path of the page that is to be secure. The secure server doesn't recognize domain names.

Most web browsers indicate a secure connection by showing some variation of a padlock icon. You can also tell if a connection is secure if the URL starts with "https:" instead of "http:. You should only invoke the secure server on forms or parts of forms that contain sensitive information such as credit card numbers.
