Domain Pointer Service |
|
The domain pointer service is designed to allow more than one
domain name to point to the same Web site. Say you have a domain named
"MyBusiness.com" but want people also to find your site using "MyOwnBusiness.com".
You could set up a second domain name and purchase a domain
pointer for "MyOwnBusiness.com", pointing to "MyBusiness.com". Visitors
entering either name would land on your main Web site.
A domain pointer may point to a sub-directory of the main Web site if the pointer domain and main domain are registered and billed to the same entities. As part of the domain pointer service, OlympusNet maintains and reports each domain's usage statistics (hit statistics), so you can track how many customers visit your Web site via each address. Disk storage space and transfer limits are regulated by the main Web site's account type. In order to purchase a domain pointer, both the pointer domain and the main domain must be hosted by OlympusNet. Benefits
