Clallam County PUD Fiber Optic Internet
(Pilot Project)

OlympusNet, in conjunction with the Clallam County PUD, offers Internet access over Fiber Optic cable in downtown Sequim. For a map of the Pilot Project, look for "Broadband and Fiber" on the Clallam County PUD Web site.

Summary

  • Up to 7Mbps during the Pilot Project - a best effort speed
  • PUD will install Fiber connection to outside of customer's building
  • Customer provides a router such as a Linksys BEFSR41 or a Netgear FR328S to the outside Fiber connection.
  • Customer provides an Ethernet cable that connects customer's Linksys or Netgear router with the PUD's box on customer's outside wall. (A 50 foot gray Ethernet cable may be purchased from www.pcconnection.com P/N 318854. For alternate lengths and colors, search the PC Connection site for 1000BaseT.)
  • Contact OlympusNet for names of companies that can assist with the cabling. OlympusNet can assist with the setup of the router.
  • A secondary dialup account with nationwide access available at a discounted rate
  • OlympusNetMail with 2 mailboxes
