CONFIGURING MICROSOFT OUTLOOK EXPRESS 4.0 USING THE SETUP WIZARD

Return to the Pictorial FAQs

1.  Open Outlook Express by double clicking on the icon on your desktop or go to Start, Programs, Outlook Express.  From the Tools menu, select Accounts

2.  Click on the Add button and choose Mail

3.  At this screen, enter your Real Name. This will be the name that appears in the From section of the email messages you send.   Click Next.

4.  Under E-mail address, enter your username (which you selected when first signing on with OlympusNet) followed by @olympus.net.  For example, if your name is Joe Smith and your username is jsmith, you would enter jsmith@olympus.net  Click Next.

5.  For Incoming Mail, enter mail.olympus.net  For Outgoing Mail, enter smtp.olympus.net  Click Next.
6.  Your account name is the username you selected when you signed up with OlympusNet. Your password is the password we selected for you; it is a multi-character set of letters, numbers, and characters.  Enter your username and password and click Next.
7.  Enter a name to call this account, such as My E-mail.  Then click Next.
8.  For the connection type, select Connect using my phone line. (unless you're a business using a LAN or other type of connection).  Click Next.
9.  For your Dial-Up Connection, select Use an existing dialup connection.  You should see OlympusNet listed.  Highlight it and click Next.
10.  Your Dial-Up Networking Connection is now complete.  Click Finish.
11.  You will return to the Internet Accounts dialog box; click Close.

12.  To check your email for the first time, make sure you are connected to OlympusNet; then click Send and Receive.
