USER NAMES AND PASSWORDS

User Names

You choose your username at the time you sign up with OlympusNet. You may use up to 13 characters. The first character must be a letter; others may be letters or digits. All letters are lower case. No other characters are allowed. We suggest using your first initial combined with your last name, ie: jsmith, or some other easily communicated word. Your email address is 'your username'@olympus.net (without the quotes), ie: jsmith@olympus.net

You may change your username for a small fee. To change your username, send a request to support@olympus.net including your real name, your telephone number, your old username, and your new username. A Technical Support representative will call you to confirm the change. (Note that if your new username is already in use, you will need to select another.) Please verify the change by sending a test message to yourself before telling people your new email address. OlympusNet will forward email from your old email address to your new one for a period of time after your change of username.

Passwords

Your password is assigned to you by OlympusNet. It is computer-generated and composed of randomly selected characters, and so is virtually un-guessable. OlympusNet does not keep a record of it. This is done to maximize security, both for you and for OlympusNet. Please keep your printed copy of your password in a safe place. Your OlympusNet password is to be used only for your OlympusNet connection. For safety's sake, do not use the same password for any other connections and do not give your password to anyone whom you do not trust.

If you feel that your password has been compromized in any way, or that someone who is untrustworthy has discovered it, please call OlympusNet at 385-0464 or 800-896-1751 and we will assign you a new password immediately.

For instructions on changing your password, see Quick Guide to Changing your Password

Logins

Your login consists of the combination of your username and your password. If you have trouble getting logged in, you may have typed either one of these incorrectly. Please make sure you have tried re-typing both your username and password, paying strict attention to upper and lower case and punctuation, and whether you have the "Caps Lock" button on, before assuming it doesn't work.
