This document describes how to configure MT-
NewsWatcher to access newsgroups available on OlympusNet. Note the MT-NewsWatcher
is for the Macintosh OS 9 and OS 10.
Setting up MT-NewsWatcher for the first time.

After downloading MT-NewsWatcher, copy it to your Applications folder.

Before starting MT-NewsWatcher make sure that you are connected to OlympusNet.

The first time that you start MT-NewsWatcher a Welcome window will
display.
Click Continue.

Enter newsgroups.olympus.net in the News Server box.

Enter send.olympus.net in the Mail (SMTP) Server box and
click Next.

Enter a name in the Full name box.

The Organization box may be left blank.

Enter your email address in the Email address box, and click done.

When the Authentication window appears enter your email address in the Username
box and your password in the Password box. Check the Save Password
box and click OK.

A list of newsgroups will be downloaded. This may take several minutes if
you are using a dialup connection. After the download is complete, MT-NewsWatcher is ready to use.
Adding OlympusNet news-server settings to your MT-NewsWatcher.
The following section explains how to add the OlympusNet news-server
settings for MT-NewsWatcher.
- Open MT-NewsWatcher. From the Special menu select News
Servers...
- Click on the New button and enter newsgroups.olympus.net
in the Enter a name for this news server: box.
- Click the Authentication tab. In the Method box verify
that Username and Password is selected.
- Enter your email address in the Username box and your password in
the Password box. Check the Save Password box and
always authenticate. Click OK.
- Newsgroups will be downloaded. This may take several minutes if you are
using a dialup connection. After the download is complete, MT-NewsWatcher
is ready to use.
