• Note:   Please recognize that a software-based modem, specifically the so-called "WinModem," will not work in Linux.  You will need an actual modem (not software emulated), which has the necessary processing power to be independent of the main machine.   

  Additionally, if you use a connection tool different from those on the above pages, you need to know what form of login protocol we use.  We use a protocol called PAP, but we do not use CHAP and connection scripts are not necessary.
