DISCONNECTING YOUR SESSION (MACINTOSH)

It is important to disconnect gracefully from your Internet session. While it is true that you will be automatically disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity, you will save on connecting time and your applications will be "happier" if you disconnect them yourself.

Use the "Disconnect" button in "Remote Access Status" or "Remote Access" (MacOS 8.5 and iMac), "Internet Status" or "PPP" (MacOS 8.0, 8.1 except iMac), or "FreePPP Setup" (if installed). If you have installed the Control Strip modules which control the PPP software, you can use the Disconnect in that Control Strip module.

If using FreePPP, use the "Disconnect" button in FreePPP Setup, or the "Disconnect" command in the FreePPP menu (if installed)...the menu with the telephone icon.

For older software, use "Disconnect" or "Hang Up" in "Apple Internet Status" or "Apple Internet Dialer" or "Close" or "Hard Close" in "Config PPP".
