ON-LINE OLYMPUSNET NEWSFLASHOctober, 2002 |
OlympusNet invites you to the Technology Fair at the Olympic Memorial Hospital in Port Angeles, Friday October 11th 8am to 4pm. We'd like to show you a live preview of our powerful, updated spam and virus filtering tools as well as our new IMAP mail. These tools are scheduled to be released in November.
UPCOMING MAIL SERVICES
Our updated and forthcoming spam and virus filtering tools are unique because they are integrated
with our other mail tools - timed autoresponders and forwarders. Unlike many other providers, we
do not route our customers' email through a third party filtering service. Our spam and virus
filtering is done on-site, making your mail more secure. This also enables us to scan outgoing
email, so that your computer cannot inadvertently send viruses and infect your friends and
co-workers.
Another significant addition is our new IMAP mail. With IMAP, you may access *all* your mail from wherever you are. Because IMAP mail is stored on our servers rather than your desktop, you have f ull access to your new and archived mail whether you are at home, at work or traveling. OlympusNet's IMAP and advanced spam and virus filtering are available to individuals and companies connected to other ISPs as well as OlympusNet customers.
CONNECTION SERVICES UPDATE
Many of you already use OlympusNet's Nationwide dialup, which comes as part of our basic dialup.
This service gives you Internet access from thousands of cities in the US and Canada and is simple
to set up. For coverage, see http://www.olympus.net/olympusnet/services/dialup.html
Later this month we will offer access to the Clallam County PUD's fiber optic network in downtown Sequim. Pricing will be usage based for minimum cost and maximum performance.
Qwest will shortly finish installation of our new DSL service for Port Townsend and Sequim. (We've had DSL in Port Angeles and Seattle since 2001). We are one of few providers that offers inexpensive managed firewall protection for our DSL customers. DSL customers may purchase Nationwide dialup access at reduced rates.
For the present, we are not offering Internet access via Northland Cable in Clallam County. Once the problems have been resolved, we will reevaluate this service.
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND
We hope to see you on Friday October 11th, but if we miss you, we will be putting on
demonstrations of our forthcoming mail tools and filters in Jefferson and Clallam Counties.
For questions, please call Technical Support at 800-896-1751 or 385-0464 Monday through Friday 9am until 7pm, Saturdays 10am until 2pm. We appreciate your continued patronage and look forward to bringing you top-notch email, firewall services, and reliable broadband and dialup connections.
Regards,
Ned Schumann and the Staff of OlympusNet
