ON-LINE OLYMPUSNET NEWSFLASH

October, 2001

WELCOME TO THE OLYMPUSNET OCTOBER, 2001 NEWSFLASH!

Greetings to all our OlympusNet Port Angeles Customers,

We are happy to announce that starting the week of 29 October, in cooperation with Qwest, OlympusNet will offer DSL for our Port Angeles customers.

Our DSL service emphasizes our commitment to security; we are one of the few Internet providers who pass all DSL traffic through a firewall. (A firewall blocks attempts to break into your computer.) You will be able to choose the amount of firewall protection you need. In addition we scan inbound and outbound email for viruses. You will also get a fixed IP address which is most helpful for telecommuters. (A fixed IP makes a telecommuter's computer recognizable to a headquarters firewall.)

With DSL, you can talk on the phone and use the Internet at the same time; a second phone line is no longer needed.

Our basic DSL (DSL 256) is priced the same as our dialup service, ranging from $30 if paid monthly to $250 if paid annually. In addition, Qwest will charge you $21.95 monthly for DSL 256. Because you can cancel your second phone line, you will be saving a monthly cost of approximately $19.50.

Not all our Port Angeles customers will need DSL or qualify for DSL. You must be within 3 miles of the Qwest central office, near City Hall. We will continue our dialup access and will offer increased security for that service as well, later in the year.

For more details, please see below and look at OlympusNet DSL Offerings.

Best regards,

Ned Schumann and the Staff at OlympusNet
