ONLINE OLYMPUSNET NEWSFLASHDecember, 2002 |
Spam-Virus filters Jan 1st 10:00PM
On the evening of January 1st from 10:00PM until 5AM on the 2nd, OlympusNet will temporarily shut down its mail services while we turn on our 2nd generation Spam and Virus filtering. No mail will be lost. Email sent to OlympusNet is queued and resent when our mail servers come back up.
On the morning of January 2nd, BUT NOT BEFORE, Spam that you used to download and filter on your computer will be trapped on OlympusNet's mail servers. Everything will work as it always has except that if you wish to view your Spam, point your browser to http://mail.olympus.net/ and look for 'Spam'. Your Spam will be automatically deleted after 14 days.
Attention travellers: starting on January 2nd, OlympusNet's Webmail will use the same http://mail.olympus.net/.
After you arrive at http://mail.olympus.net/, enter your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS (for example, xxx@olympus.net) and password. To page down, look for ">>". Caution: you will get an error message if you use this before January 2nd. For pictorial help, please turn to http://www.olympus.net/olympusnet/webmail/using_webmail.html.
With OlympusNet's soon-to-be-released Control Panel, you'll have an alternate way of viewing and controlling your Spam. It will also enable you to manage your mail or your company's mail.
Following is a summary of the mail services that will be enabled on January 2nd:
OlympusNet urges you to continue to use your desktop Virus software.
