About Us

We live in Washington state between Sequim and Olympia. Most of us have been with OlympusNet for over five years. Among us are writers, parents, llama owners, dog trainers, bead makers, kite fliers, artists and ferry historians. We have degrees in history, biology, philosophy, mathematics, physics, English, and art.

Our CEO is Ned Schumann who founded OlympusNet. His background is in software engineering and real-time operating systems, and he thoroughly enjoys his immersion in the art of marketing.

We are an ISP with specialty email tools, nationwide dialup, DSL, Web hosting and custom Web projects. We are currently developing next-generation hosting and development services.

All of us are committed to providing exceptional service and innovative products.

History

OlympusNet is one of the oldest Internet Service Providers. We started in 1993 before the Web was in widespread use. In those days customers connected to us with 14.4Kb modems. In 2001 we moved most of our servers into the Qwest facility that provides communications for the greater Seattle area. In that same year, we began our DSL service in Port Angeles. In 2002 we offered our DoubleVerify email service and in 2003, turned up DSL in Port Townsend. In 2005 we began a major overhaul of our equipment and software in order to offer next-generation community building tools for organizations. The fruits of that two-year overhaul will become apparent in late 2007. We are located in Port Townsend, Washington, USA.
