COFFEE CONCERTS --Coffee Concerts will resume April 3/4, for three weeks (see schedule). Turtle Bluff II has sold, and we must be out by May 1. There will be no concerts in May. Starting in June, we will be giving “Espresso concerts at our rental house: 1806 Walnut St., Port Townsend. Since space there will be very limited, reservations will be required. RHINO RIDGE, our new house, won’t be finished until next spring. Regular concerts resume when it is finished. TURTLE BLUFF ORCHESTRA SCHOLARSHIPS
DESTINATION GALAPAGOS -- Gwen Moore's account of her flight in a Cherokee-6, with four friends, from Santa Monica California to the Galapagos Islands.
Normally, Coffee Concerts occur every Monday and Tuesday morning (10 a.m. to 12 n) in summer and on alternate weeks during the spring and fall, Gwendolyn Moore, pianist, and her guest artists play classical and cross-over music, sing excerpts from Mozart operas and Broadway shows, and talk about making music. These regular concerts will end April 18, and will resume next year.
Tickets are $7 (or $30 for a book of 5), available at the door. No reservations are needed.
Directions for reaching Turtle Bluff II
One week a month, May through September, we have featured local artists at the Coffee Concerts. Their work has been displayed in the garden room, where coffee and cookies are served. At the intermission and before and after the concert, guests have had an opportunity to view the work and talk to the artists. Fifteen percent of the price of any artwork sold has gone to the Turtle Bluff Scholarship fund. These events will resume in May 2007, at the new house on Blue Ridge Road.
TURTLE BLUFF ORCHESTRA SCHOLARSHIPS
The non-profit Turtle Bluff Orchestra provides scholarships to young musicians from Jefferson County. We appreciate the generous response to our annual appeal for the fund. The 32 young musicians who auditioned in February were awesome. We awarded them a total of $15,150. We also continue to support the Pi String Orchestra. It is a unique opportunity to introduce young people to classical music and the put instruments in their hands.

DIRECTIONS FOR REACHING Turtle Bluff II
To reach Turtle Bluff II from Port Townsend, take highway 20 to the branch to Port Hadlock and Chimacum. Stay left at the branch, taking Rhody Drive to Ness' corner. Turn left at Ness' corner, continue straight through the main intersection in Hadlock (the blinking red light), and follow the signs to Indian Island. Continue all the way across Indian Island and over the causeway to Marrowstone Island. Stay to the left as you come onto the island. Turtle Bluff II is on the right-hand side, 1/4 mile past the WELCOME sign. There is a large turtle on the roof.
