Game/Score Recap Scorers

3/28 Vs. Bellevue JV

L: 0-2

Away

PA JV Recap:
PA JV vs Bellevue JV. Thanks to Bellevue for hosting our new JV players on the turf and under the lights at Bellevue HS. It was a great experience for our players, who have improved drasticaly since the jamboree. Even though we didn't score we were able to play the game on both sides of the field. Defensively, we did things pretty well, keeping the game scoreless for two and a half quarters. Fatigue and a few mental mistakes gave Bellevue the opportunity to get a couple goals in the third. As our skills improve and we start to get a feel for offensive play, we should start getting more shots on goal. Look forward to our next game in a couple of weeks.

PA:

3/30 Vs. Bainbridge JV

L: 4-5

Home

PA JV Recap: Port Angeles JV vs Bainbridge JV. The Rider JV team finally got on the board scoring 4 goals in their second game. Our skills seem to be improving in quantum leaps on a daily basis. Just two nights ago we could only get 4 shots on goal, and tonight we scored that many. We were able to get up two goals on a solid Bainbridge team after falling behind by two initally. However, the Spartans were able to tie it up just before the end of regulation. Overtime was hard fought, and was capped by an outstanding feed and quick stick goal by Bainbridge with 1:30 to go. We look forward to the next two contests.

4/18 Vs. Nathan Hale JV

W: 13-8

Away

PA JV Recap: Port Angeles JV vs Hale JV. The young Riders got their first ever win as a JV program. We are starting to find out what it takes to play some offense. Many players scored their first goals. A beautiful day for lacrosse at Lakeside. Thanks for the use of the field. Thanks to a Hale for clean and remarkably well played JV game. Both teams handled the ball very well, ran their offenses and came up with some great plays. On the other side of the ball, we both played good position defense with accurate and controlled stick checks. Both teams have a lot to learn, but with youngsters like this starting to pick up the game, lacrosse is certainly flourishing in Washington.

4/20 Vs. Franklin JV

W: 7-2

Home

PA JV Recap: PA JV vs Franklin JV. Another great game for the youngsters on both teams. Franklin has great speed but we were able to play good position defense and control the ball on offense. Capped a great evening of lacrosse in sunny Port Angeles.

4/20 Vs. Bainbridge JV

L: 4-6

Away

PA JV Recap: A beautiful day for lacrosse at Bainbridge. The young riders jumped out to a 2-0 lead against a talented and athletic Bainbridge JV squad. Bainbridge however was able to answer with 3 goals before the end of the half. A scoreless third quarter was followed by the Riders tying it up early in the fourth. Bainbridege made another three goal run midway through the final period and although the Riders tried to come back late, the Bainbridge goalie was determined to keep the ball out of the net. Fun game. Thanks to Adam Smith and two other BI "A" players for officiating the game. They did an outstanding job of keeping the game flowing and under control.

5/7 Vs. Mercer Island JV

L: 2-7

Away

PA JV Recap: Port Angeles JV vs Mercer Island JV. Great day for lacrosse at Mercer Island and another great learning experience for the young Riders. This is the first time we faced a pressure defense at the JV level, and our kids did a remarkable job holding onto the ball even though we never really did get many good scoring opportunities from our offense. We played much better in the second half, and our defense, led by goalie Trevor Warren, held the Islanders to only a single goal. Thanks for a great game, MI, and we look forward to long association in the future.

5/7 Vs. Bainbridge JV

L: 6-8

Home

PA JV Recap: Port Angeles JV vs Bainbridge JV. Another great night for lacrosse and a third great game between our two JV teams. BI JV drew first blood but the young Riders answered with four goals. BI countered with the next three and both teams traded goals in the third period before Bainbridge put it away in the fourth period. Its been a pleasure to watch these young players improve over the past season.
