3/14 Vs. Seattle Prep
W: 9-2
Away |

PA Recap: The Riders were impressed with the composure of the first year Panthers. They will obviously be a team to reconwith in the future. The Riders continue to place a heavy empasis on defense, holding the Panthers to only 9 shots on goal. Offensively, we are starting out much better than we have in the past with improved ball handling and shooting (72% shots on goal. Congratulations to Ryan Anderson and Dan Perez on scring their first goal as Roughriders.

3/16 Vs. Vashon
W: 13-2
Home |
PA Recap: The Riders want to thank the young Vultures for a hard fought game. Vashon made us work hard for each and every goal. Our team depth was juat a bit too much over the course of the game. We feel bad about the hard check late in the game, and again want to reassure all the Vultures.
Vashon Recap: Port Angeles has talent and athleticism at virtually all postions. Vashon was without four players and had to play ironman lacrosse with an undersized and less talented bunch. But, Vashon players scraped until the end.

3/17 Vs. Eastside
(A team)
W: 7-3
Home |
PA Recap: The Riders were priviledged to host Eastside on Saturday and fortunate to get them in their frist game of the year. From our point of view an extremely well played first half ended with the Riders holding a 3-2 advantage. We were able to come out strong in the second half and space out for more gaols while holding Eastside to one additional goal late in the 4th quarter. This was a great test to see how well our porgram is progressing versus a quality "A" division opponent. We thank Eastside for making the long trip on a beautiful weekend and look forward to future matches.
Eastside Recap: "B" League beware: Port Angeles is for real!! The Roughriders showed the "A" leaguers how lacrosse should be played and sent Eastside home with their tails between their legs. Port Angeles played an extremely solid, disiplined game. They swarmed groundballs, controlled possession of the game and made few mental errors. Port Angeles came out tough from the get go and took a 2-0 lead. Eastside collected itself and controlled the 2nd quarter to cut to a 2-3 defecit at halfttime. But Port Angeles stayed composed and their goalie kept the nets clean. Port Angeles is simply the better TEAM and a class program. The scary part: only 3 seniors!!! The future is bright. Justin Patterson played well in net for Eastside or things could have been much worse.

3/20 Vs. Roosevelt
W: 13-3
Home |
PA Recap: A very young Roosevelt team starting out with a new program made the long trip to Port Angeles and played with a lot of heart and determination. To their credit, they played hard to the final horn against a much more experienced squad. They have the nucleus of a good defensive squad to build their team around, and will improve as the season progresses. Congratulations to PA players, Brett Witters, Nick Crabb, and Spencer James, who scored their first goals as Roughriders.

3/23 Vs. Bainbridge B
W: 11-3
Home |
PA Recap: A big game between two rivals in the western conference of the "B" division. After our dismal performance against Bainbridge B at the jamboree, we knew we had to play at a high level and keep Bainbridge from getting into their game. We were fortunate to be able to control the first quarter and as a result jump out to a 5 goal lead. Good ball control and scoring on 44% of our shots were the keys to this game. We know Bainbridge will reload and be ready for the next game at their house in a few weeks. It will undoubtedly be a good one. Congratulations to Logan Smith on scoring his first goal as a Roughrider in divisional play!

4/10 Vs. Curtis
W: 15-2
Home |
PA Recap: Thanks to Curtis for comming over and bringing the sunshine with them. The heavy rain that fell on PA all day stopped at game time and the sun started to dry up the few minor swimming pools that dotted the field. The Riders were fortunate to score early and then post 6 more goals to finish the first period. Scott Cline led the Riders with 4 goals and an assist, and a week in China didn't seem to affect Ryan Weed as he collected a hat trick and an assist. Balanced scoring from all mid and attack lines, and a fast break goal from defenseman Jim Baumstark completed the scoring. Outstanding "D" from all players and the ability to sweep the field of ground balls was the real key to the game. We look forward to to our next game with Curtis on their turf.

4/13 Vs. Maple Valley B
W: 9-2
Away |
PA Recap: The Maple Valley players, coaches and parents are to be commended for the efforts they put in to "rehabilitate" their field. Conditions were excellent. If the weather gives them a break the field should be good for the rest of the season. Not so for the Riders play. Maple Valley won the psychological battle in the first few minutes of the game and we didn't get our composure back until late in the fourth. Not a good victory. Next week back to the two F's, focus and more focus.

4/20 Vs. Franklin
W: 11-6
Home |
PA Recap: Great lacrosse game as it is every time we play Franklin. The Quakers definitely came to play and almost caught the Riders a little over confident. A physical, skillful and hard fought game. Franklin's excellent off ball movement had us looking around for most of the first 2 quarters. We were fortunate to get it together at the end of the second quarter and take a 4-3 lead into half. Although we were able to extend in the second half, the game was much closer then the score would indicate.

4/24 Vs. Bainbridge B
W: 11-7
Away |
PA Recap: Two playoff bound teams locked horns in a match important in determining home field advantage for the playoffs. Highly charged games like this get a little sloppy at times. Definitely exciting, however. The Riders got on the board first and were able to get up by two, and from there on Bainbridge would close and we would be fortunate answer and keep the lead. There were many plays well executed by both teams and both goalies had solid games. B division playoffs should be worth watching.

5/1 Vs. Vashon
W: 18-2
Away |
PA Recap: The pre-game deluge stoppped just in time for a beautiful evening to play lacrosse. Vashon is a class program with players who work very hard on the field. They have improved considerably since our first meeting. Its just hard to stay in the game when your consistently going up against fresh lines. The Riders ran their offense well and had good balanced scoring coupled with a solid defense and transition game. Congratulations to Tyler Johnson on his first goal as a Roughrider.
Vashon Recap: The Roughriders showed Vashon why they remain undefeated. PA is rock-solid on defense and their offense is a well-oiled machine. PA took advantage of each Vashon mistake, and regretably, there were many of them. Nevertheless, Vashon played with heart to the end. Good luck to PA in the playoffs.

PA: No Game |
5/11 Vs. Curtis
W: 13-7
Away
|
PA Recap: The relatively inexperienced Roughriders are finding out how difficult it is to stay on top and remain undefeated. Curtis came to play and the game was a fine finish to an excellent regular season. The Riders got on the board first and edged out to a 2-0 lead, but Curtis wouldn't let themselves be put away through excellent shooting. The game was iced for PA, however, midway through the fourth on an extremely athletic play by Ryan Weed leaping high to catch a feed from Chris Johnson and turning 180 degrees in midair and finishing with a quick stick score. Great play, great officiating, and a great crowd made for an outstanding game.

5/16 Vs. Franklin
State Semi-finals
W: 11-3
Home
|
PA Recap: The Riders put it all together tonight when it counted, in the Semi-Finals. We cmae out on the top of our game and scored 5 unanswered goals in the first and three in the second before Franklin was able to get on the board with two before the end of the half. The second half settled down with good ball control and defense by both teams, but with the Riders prevailing.Congratulations to Franklin on an outstanding season. You were very patient with your offense but our D just didn't give you many good scoring opportunities. Look forward to playing you again, we always have great matches. Kudos to an outstanding officiating crew (McFie, Koransky, and Farrington.) Hardly noticed you guys were there; how it should be!
