Education

“We’ll teach you to drink deep ere you depart.” Hamlet I,ii

Olympic Shakespeare Productions brings the poetry and plays of the immortal bard to life for students from kindergarten to college. In that students learn best by doing, each O.S.P. presentation includes opportunities for students to interact with the text, the actors and each other.

Elizabethan actors were known as “players” and O.S.P. actor/instructors approach performing and teaching Shakespeare’s works with a lively spirit of play as well as respect for these incomparable works
of art.

Whether you’re looking for a general introduction to Shakespeare, or an in-depth exploration of Macbeth, O.S.P. will fashion a presentation to fit the needs of your organization. Our experienced bardophiles will come to your school to perform, discuss, and/or discourse. Please provide four weeks notice to our educational coordinator in order to create the best of Shakespeare for your students.

Also, watch for announcements of special “mini-conservatory” events designed to engage and enlighten public students of Elizabethan dance, stage-combat, Renaissance music, costume and, of course, the text of the plays as well as debates and discussions which will benefit audience members and performing artists. Company members and visiting professionals will facilitate these intensive experiences which will run from one to four hours and promise a hands-on approach to appreciating all of Shakespeare.
