Ocean Grove's Community Garden
The Ocean Grove Community Garden is well into its third season. A deer fence has been installed, the soil has been tilled, and a water tank that feeds a gravity flow system is in place. A composting bin has been constructed and untainted (free of pesticides, herbicides, and animal waste) grass clippings and leaves may be left at the site by any Ocean Grove resident.
ACTIVITIES--Spring planting is underway. The garden has been expanded for blueberry plantings.
PARTICIPATION--Because of the limited space, particpation must be limited. There is an opportunity for one additional family at this time. A start-up fee of $100 plus periodic cost-sharing of garden expenses is required. For more information contact Lon Zimmerman (390.5022 zimco@gci.net) or Jerry Gorsline (385.6132 jgors@q.com).
LOCATION--On Myrtle, just north of Cape George Road at the entrance to the drainfield trail.
