Many centers in the world are running permanent GPS stations. These stations are mostly developed for geodynamic studies. The observations of permanent GPS stations are well suited for determination of water vapor information of the atmosphere. Considering the tremendous atmospheric information that can be extracted from permanent GPS stations, it is recommended that a World GPS Atmospheric Center be established and the GPS data from permanent GPS stations all over the world be forwarded to this center, atmospheric information be generated from GPS observation, and global access to these data be provided. Technical details of such a center including, hardware, software, technical staffs, and communicational links will be sketched.
