Satellite altimetry missions are providing well-coverage high-quality sea surface observations at the sea areas. Harmonic analysis of the satellite altimetry data can provide global Mean Sea Level (MSL) information. Oceanographic methods are capable of determining ocean circulations as well as Sea Surface Topography (SST) models. Subtraction of SST from MSL provides geoid at the sea areas. Inversion of geoid, via inverse Bruns formula, into potential values at the surface of reference ellipsoid and forward application of the ellipsoidal Poisson integral is proposed for gravity field modeling at the sea areas. Details of the procedure along with the results of a practical application of the method at the Persian Gulf will be presented.
